UPDATED - 28/02/21
Firstly, thank you to all of you, both current and future clients for your continued patient in these difficult times.
Safety is a priority for us all during this pandemic and with this in mind, I'm afraid there may not be as many spaces as previously available going forward owing to the need of sanitising the car in-between lessons.
BOOKING DRIVING LESSONS
We are currently in lockdown and in line with the current Government guidelines and as of Sunday 20th December 2020, we can no longer provide driving lessons.
The proposed date for a return to lessons is Monday 12th April. This is subject to change as laid out in the Prime Ministers 'Roadmap'. Details can be found here
Theory Tests are currently on hold as of Sunday 20th December 2020 until 12th April 2021 (at the earliest)
Practical Car Tests are on hold as of Sunday 20th December 2020 until 12th April 2021 (at the earliest)
The official Government guidance can be found here.
When lessons can resume, the following guidelines and measures will remain in place to ensure lessons can be delivered as safely and as efficiently as possible.
Changes to the standard cancellation policy are outlined below.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19, you must inform me immediately and the lesson will be cancelled and rearranged, with no cancellation fee.
If I have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive for COVID-19, I will inform you immediately and the lesson will be cancelled and rearranged, with no cancellation fee.
Please avoid, as much as possible, cancelling for any other reason as spaces for lessons are extremely limited. Cancellations for any other reason will be subject to the normal cancellation policy and will be chargeable if 48 hours notice has not been given.
(Please be advised that due to events of last year, this is something I will unfortunately need to enforce)
Symptoms according to gov.uk include a new continuous cough, a high temperature or a loss or change in your normal sense of smell or taste
HYGIENE AND PROTECTION
As it is not possible to socially distance in a car, the following precautions remain in place:
Please wash your hands thoroughly before attending your lesson.
I will ask you to use hand sanitiser before the lesson commences. (Please inform me if you have any allergies that might prevent this)
Gloves are optional, but if you choose to wear them please do not put them on until just before you enter the car.
I will have a non contact thermometer in the car to check temperatures at the start of the lesson.
If you have a suitable mask, please wear this to your lesson. If you do not have anything suitable, I can provide a face mask. Please also ensure the mask is clean or new (if disposable)
I will continue to wear a face mask for the duration of your lesson.
The car will be sanitised with disinfectant or anti-bacterial wipes before your lesson commences and in between each lesson.
I have installed fully wipe-able car seat covers to allow for sanitising before and after each lesson.
Car windows will be open – weather permitting – to allow adequate ventilation. (Please dress accordingly)
I have bags for your PPE to be discarded in at the end of each lesson which i will transfer to an air tight container in the boot of the car.
These precautions are to keep us both safe and keep the potential spread of COVID-19 to an absolute minimum.
Unless you have a medical reason (which must be declared upon booking) candidates will be required to wear a face mask for Driving Tests. (face shields are permitted but will still require the use of a face mask)
I really appreciate your help
with these measures and I know the list seems pretty exhausting. But hopefully they will not be forever and won’t change your enjoyment of the lessons.
Above all, please be honest.
Cancellations for COVID symptoms will not be charged for.
**The option for your instructor to sit in on the test has been put on pause. It has always been entirely your choice if you would like me to sit in on tests but this will not be possible for the foreseeable future.**
